Life is richer when meaningful and memorable human connections happen more often.

Most extraordinary moments don't begin with extraordinary circumstances. They begin with an ordinary conversation. An unexpected act of kindness. A stranger. A question. A shared laugh. A moment when two people truly see one another. We believe those moments can happen more often than most people realize.

What if…

What if the richest parts of life aren't the biggest moments...

...but the people we meet along the way?

The unexpected conversation.

The stranger who makes us smile.

The neighbor we finally get to know.

The teacher who changes our life.

The friendship that begins over something ordinary.

The person who truly sees us.

Meaningful and memorable human connections don’t require an extraordinary life.

They happen when ordinary life is lived with greater intention, curiosity, and generosity.

Become a Founding Explorer

We're inviting our first group of Founding Explorers to help shape this project from the very beginning.

You'll receive practical ideas for your own life—but you'll also help us discover something much bigger.

Each participant receives:

  • A one-on-one Connection Conversation

  • A personalized Human Connection Profile

  • Ten customized Connection Experiments

  • A follow-up reflection

Most importantly...

You'll help us discover something bigger than any one conversation.

One Question

How do ordinary days become meaningful and memorable because of the people we connect with?

We don't think anyone has fully answered this question.

So we’re setting out to explore it.

An Invitation

The Human Connection Lab is just beginning.

We’re looking for the first 100 Founding Explorers to help answer a question I've become captivated by:

How do ordinary days become meaningful and memorable because of the people we connect with?

Every interview...

Every story...

Every experiment...

will help shape what this project ultimately becomes.

Early Discoveries

As of today….

We're seeing fascinating patterns.

One early observation:

Unexpectedness appears again and again in stories of meaningful and memorable human connection.

It's too early to call this a conclusion.

But it's exactly the kind of discovery we're hoping to make.

As this project grows, we'll continue sharing what we learn.

Why This Exists

The older I get, the more convinced I become that life's richest moments rarely arrive on a schedule.

They happen unexpectedly.

In ordinary places.

With ordinary people.

And yet...

Many of us wish those moments happened more often.

The Human Connection Lab exists because I believe they can.

Not through luck.

But through greater intention, curiosity, and generosity.

That's what I'm trying to learn.

And I'd love for you to explore it with me.

A Different Way to Think About Human Connections

Most of us don't intentionally design the human connections in our lives.

We simply inherit them.

We spend time with the people who happen to be around us.

We slowly lose touch with others.

We rarely make space for someone new.

And we often overlook the small moments of connection that can brighten an ordinary day.

But what if we became more intentional?

What if we occasionally paused to ask:

  • Am I investing in the people I love most?

  • Am I making room for new people to enter my life?

  • Have I let important relationships quietly fade?

  • Am I noticing opportunities for brief moments of connection that make ordinary days feel richer?

We don't know all the answers yet.

But we believe those questions are worth asking.

In ordinary places.

With ordinary people.
